The Senior Software Engineer participates in the day to
day activities of embedded system development for highly-available,
distributed IoT components. This position is responsible for software that
runs on both COTS and custom hardware platforms and works with internal and
external stakeholders to ensure the design meets product requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the projects for this team by
leading, coaching and mentoring team members.
Develop, customize and implement highly-available
solutions.
Meet project deadlines by understanding and analyzing
requirements, designing, developing and testing solutions.
Determine optimal solution designs based on the
assessment of costs, risks, complexity and benefits.
Analyze software and hardware options and integrate
into existing and new solutions.
Contribute to the team and ensure mutual success by
providing guidance for development, testing and problem resolution.
Provide status reports and identify/escalate issues
as appropriate to the relevant project stakeholders.
Become knowledgeable in the System architecture of products,
particularly as it relates to asset management.
Assist with testing and problem resolution.


 





POSITION REQUIREMENTS



Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software
Engineering or related technical field.


5-10+ years’ experience working with C/C++
applications in a Linux environment.
5 years’ experience customizing Linux kernel configuration
according to hardware needs.
Previous experience leading a team.
Excellent communication skills and problem-solving
abilities.


Desired Skills:

Experience with configuration of the Linux Kernel.
Experience working in the U-Boot environment.
Experience integrating hardware devices over i2c,
GPIO, and UART connections.
Experience developing on OpenWRT/LEDE devices.
Experience with C++14.
Experience with automated test frameworks such as
Boost:Test.
Experience communicating over various TCP protocols, including
RESTful interfaces.
