Description:The Junior Data Analyst is located within the Data & Analytics team. Our company is concentrated on the understanding and application of data to make decisions for management and improvement of its client’s operations and the businesses it serves. We primarily specialize in working with data from the Capital Markets, Real Estate and Mortgage Servicing verticals. Our mission is to deliver transparent and effective analytical output to produce insight that will allow our customers to make healthier and more informed decisions about their data that impacts the success of their overall business.
As a Junior Data Analyst, you will help in exploring and examining data from disparate source with the goal of discovering patterns and insights that can address business problems. You will assist with analyzing business level data to produce actionable insights utilizing analytics tools and languages such as R, Python, SQL, etc.
The Role:
You will contribute to the advancement of analytical projects from inception to delivery and beyond. Key
responsibilities include:
- Write query to fetch data from relational and non-relational databases
- Validate machine learning model and conduct quality control
- Use regular expressions for text processing
- Write python script to automate data transformation pipeline
- Data Analysis extracting, comparing and profiling large data sets
- Learn and use program languages such as R, Python, or SQL to provide support for data analysis, statistical analysis, root-cause analysis, structured/unstructured predictive analytics, predictive modeling, optimization, and forecasting to produce actionable data- drive insights and outcomes for both time-sensitive and long-term business questions
The Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science & Analytics, Management Information Systems or equivalent
work experience (mortgage and/or real-estate highly preferred)
- Knowledge of database and SQL query
- Hands on experience with object-oriented programming language (Java, C#, etc.)
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel including its full array of formulas, VBA macros, pivot
tables, graphs, etc.
- Familiarity with R programming or Python scripting is preferred
- Experience developing algorithms is preferred
- Excellence in communication and a "get-the-job done" attitude
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks/responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to work as part of a team and ability to work with clients and peers in a respectful and
professional manner
- Desire to work in a changing environment
