A growing technology company is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead the company’s technical team (web, mobile, e-comm, Blockchain). We are searching for an individual who is strong in people management, comfortable managing a $4 million IT budget, and possesses product to market delivery experience. This individual will be a key member of the management team helping to define the business strategy and vision behind building a strong software development department. This position will manage the Product Management, software development team and other internal stake holders within the engineering department. This department consists of a team of 11, with the VP of Engineering reporting to the CEO. We want someone to cultivate a high-performing, yet humble environment that treats people well.Responsibilities:• Manage a team including responsibility for hiring, performance management, and compensation management.• Ensure department is meeting overall strategic objectives and goals.• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and update the development roadmap.• Provide leadership and guidance to coach and motivate team members.• Manage and coordinates the planning, design, scoping, analysis, coding implementation• Work with management team to drive strategy, define processes, execute architectural decisions and have overall accountability for the performance of the Software Development teams• Lead major development projects, web and ecommerce deployments, and maintenance of all front and back office applications across the application portfolio• Direct the scope evaluation, estimation, technical design, development, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance of custom and packaged software• Manage and effectively communicate change, issues, risks, and potential mitigation strategies associated with projects and deliverable• Determine the appropriate use of outsourcing and ideal team structures to accelerate delivery and optimize efficiency• Determine development team performance review based metrics and track, improve, and ensure adherence to expectations for employee• Perform IT budgeting and hiring and firing and manage the IT budget• Determine needs for new or enhanced technologies to support the Company strategy and to help the Company meet its financial and operational goals• Manage overall efficiency of operation of the software development team• Identify opportunities to improve overall time to the market while reducing cost and risk• Manage and grow C-level Executive level talent across multiple development teams to create a strong, well-integrated team• Running technology infrastructure, seamlessly, efficiently and effectively with in standards and policies• Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company’s products and services• Outstanding critical thinking skills. Qualifications:• 15 years’ experience in the areas of software development and/or technical product delivery• 10 years’ experience in leading and managing software development teams• Master’s Degree in business administration, Computer Science or related field
