Description:Principal Product Engineer

The Principal Product Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle of design
through production for molded thermoplastic nanocomposite products.  Manufacturing methods such as injection molding, extrusion
and thermoforming are used. This role is also responsible for working with the
CTO to test and characterize new versions of materials within the product
family.  The Principal Product Engineer
is the lead for design services capability and will have influence over
building a successful engineering team.


The successful candidate will have
demonstrated experience in quality design and manufacturing of molded polymer
products. The role involves working directly with customers to promote the
technology and identify and qualify candidate parts, translating existing
designs for aluminum parts into new material-based designs.  The role also includes working with customer
engineering departments to meet customer product requirements and to oversee product
technical performance and quality. The optimal candidate also has experience
working with outsourced manufacturing for all phases and scale of production. The
Principal Product Engineer will need to be self-driven for project execution
and be able to follow goal level instruction from company leadership to
successfully identify and accomplish task items that meet the goal


A minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering design, tool
design and part manufacturing for injection molded polymer products
Experience with design allowables based engineering design methods
Proficient with engineering drawings including GD&T and
manufacturing specifications
Proficient with project management tools such as MS Project
Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Proficient with CAD tools such as Solid Works, Siemens NX, Fusion
360 or equivalent
Experience with polymer processing and manufacturing methods such
as injection molding and thermoforming
The ideal candidate has experience in product management or sales
or engineering with demonstrated capability to promote new technology and
successfully derive customer requirements
Self-driven with demonstrated record of achieving timely results  
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal
communication skills

B.S. degree in mechanical engineering,
chemical engineering or polymer engineering
