Description:
Engineering Assembly Specialist
Multi-skilled individual that performs assembly and inspection
tasks throughout various areas of the company as work load dictates. Assemble
Engineering prototype and test fixture electronics. Perform specialized
rework/repair for RMAs, modifications and production electronics. Verify
products meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the customer, IPC-A-610
and/or J-STD-001 and the internal bill of materials. Work within the parameters
of the Quality Management System while pursuing general and Company specific
commercial goals.
 
Assemble specialized prototype and test fixture electronics for
Engineering Department
Perform specialized rework and repair procedures for RMAs and
modifications
Rework/replace BTCs/BGA using Martin rework system; X-ray reworked
units to verify acceptability
Document rework/repair and assembly operations as required by
procedures/documentation
Inspect electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure they
comply with the production work order and/or AEGIS work instructions, IPC-A-610
and/or J-STD-001 and Customer requirements
Inspect assemblies returned by the customer for repair or rework
(RMAs)
Initiate Non-Conforming Repair paperwork as needed to send
defective items to MRB
Record defects in AEGIS; pass acceptable assemblies, record and
process defects per Quality Work Instructions
Perform SAP operations that accompany inspection and assembly
processes
 Assist with FAI inspections Solve problems and suggest
improvements to Engineering and Quality Managers
 Maintain the work area for
cleanliness and ESD compliance to present a professional appearance to
customers
 
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
IPC-A-610 CIS Certification
IPC-7711/7721 Certification (Repair / Rework)
J-STD-001 CIS Certification Preferred
X-ray Interpretation – Electronics X-ray (Solder Joint)
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, ability to
schematics is a plus
Familiarity with microscopes, measuring devices, and other
necessary tools
4 years’ experience in electronics assembly and inspection
Basic computer literacy in using Microsoft Excel, Outlook email,
Word
