Job Description


We are looking for an Electrical Power System Architect (EPSA) with a strong technical background in power distribution, switching, regulation, and conversion within spacecraft, military vehicles, and high reliability industrial applications.  Specific experience with space radiation effects, redundant power systems, and power system requirements definition is required.  Experience in defining requirements for DC/DC converters, solid state power switching and overload protection is required.  Experience with power levels from a few Watts to 10+ KW and voltages ranging from a few Volts to 480V are a plus. Experience with digitally managed and controlled power products is preferred. Experience through a complete design cycle including requirements definition, detailed design, requirements verification, and release to production is a plus.The ideal candidate can conduct a workshop with customers, peers, and suppliers to define an overall electrical power system architecture, conduct tradeoffs, allocate requirements, provide critical review of proposed designs, mentor the design team, and provide oversight during design validation and qualification. Creation of / input to new product roadmaps and strategic planning is expected. This position will require significant interface with customers and suppliers and development of key relationships.The EPSA will lead by example and work cross functionally to achieve business NSE and NSB goals and owns the power systems product line strategy, product definition, design architecture, and roadmap. Job ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:The EPSA will act as the subject matter expert for power electronics building on our history as a Long-Time Supplier to Military / Space / Industrial Communities providing Multi-Chip Modules, Solid State Relays, Solid State Power Controllers, Optoelectronic Assemblies and Custom Packaging to support high reliability and complex Customer Requirements.  Our customers have come to rely on our Validated Quality Systems, Comprehensive Certifications & Processes as well as compliance to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K, and MIL-PRF-19500 JANS. Engage with key customers, target markets and internal stakeholders to develop product growth strategies.Support new product definition, development and release to market initiatives.Create MRDs (Market Requirement Documents) and kick-off new product development in support of product line roadmap.Represent us at industry wide technical forums and standards committeesPresent papers and technical discussionsTravel up to 25%  

Requirements:10+ years related experience in electrical power, spacecraft power experience is required5+ years in a chief engineer or systems architect roleStrong communication abilities, written and oralStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across multiple functional organizationsBSEE from an accredited institution
